Carole Stintsman Hurley

Carole Lynn Hurley( nee Stintsman), 76, passed away peacefully on January 23 in Moorestown, NJ. Daughter of the late Wilbur U. “Bill” Hurley and the late Lois Powell Hurley and sister of the late Thomas R. Hurley, Carole grew up in Pennington, NJ and was a member of Hopewell Valley Central High School Class of 1964. After graduation she briefly attended the St. Francis Medical Center School of Nursing in Trenton, NJ before marrying and moving to Hopewell to raise her family. In Hopewell, Carole was, an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She could often be seen working in the medical offices of Drs. Ronald Grossman and James Johnson and volunteering her time with the Hopewell Fire Department EMS. She was a long-time resident of Hart Ave before moving to Ewing Township in the late eighties. Carole completed her nursing education, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Mercer County Community College and working many years for the Medical Center at Princeton, Hunterdon Medical Center, and Hunterdon Care Center. A selfless and compassionate person, she dedicated a great deal of her life to the care and wellbeing of others. Her hobbies included reading, counted cross-stitch, baking and sharing an enormous variety of Christmas breads and cookies with friends each holiday season. In retirement, Carole shared her time between the homes of her children and their families. She is survived by three children, twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Daughter Lorrie (Tilton) Hullfish and Gary Hullfish of Moorestown NJ and their three children; Dr. Jeffrey Hullfish of Orlando FL, Todd Hullfish of Philadelphia PA, Corinne Hullfish of Atlanta GA: son Skip Tilton and Lisa (Mathews) Tilton of Hillsboro OH and their five children; Deborah (Tilton) Madison of East Brunswick NJ, Kevin and Jillian Tilton of Spotswood NJ, Michael Tilton and Veronica Perez-Fidalgo of Clovis NM, Robert Tilton and Thomas Tilton, both of Hillsboro OH: daughter Christi (Tilton) Mangee and Tim Mangee and their four children; Brooke (Mangee) McGillick and Tyler McGillick , Morgan (Mangee) Hubert, Kaela Mangee and Andrew Mangee, all of Frenchtown NJ. Great grandchildren include Noah Hubert, Nora McGillick, Emme Madison, Isaac Tilton and Alice Tilton-Perez. Arrangements are under the care of Lewis Funeral Home in Moorestown, NJ.
