Cathy Jones

Cathy M. Jones, 65, of Moorestown, New Jersey died Thursday, September 28, 2023, at Virtua Voorhees Hospital. Born on March 11, 1958, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Dottie Mae Jones and the late Ivory Thomas Jones Jr., Cathy attended public schools in Philadelphia, where she lived until moving to southern New Jersey in the late 1980s to raise her young family. She remained in Jersey to be close to her adult children and their families, for the past twenty+ years living in Moorestowne Woods. Cathy spent over two decades working at the Colonial Penn Insurance Company, followed by her years at the International Sports Center in Mount Laurel. After that she decided to pursue a Medical Records Certificate and went on to work at Dorfner Medical Center in Willingboro, and most recently at Virtua Primary Care in Cherry Hill. A devoted mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother, as well as a treasured aunt, niece and cousin, Cathy was also a friend one could always count on. She loved hanging out with her family and friends (especially her precious grandchildren); and enjoyed reading a good book, appreciating art of all genres, taking long walks to clear her mind, spending leisurely days at the beach, taking trips to her “happy store”, sipping on ice-cold Tito’s martinis, styling her signature bright red lip, and listening to just about any kind of music. And how she loved to dance! It gave her such joy. Those who knew her will always have fond memories of Cathy on the dance floor a big grin on her face, her arms in the air as she danced and sang along to one of her favorite tunes. A beautiful person inside and out, Cathy was a generous and gentle soul, who will be remembered as someone who loved to laugh, offered comfort to others, and gave much of herself to those she loved. And though devastated by this loss, her loved ones are holding Cathy’s memory in their hearts, sending her love and light and praying for her peaceful passage. Cathy leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Jamil Glenn (Daisha) and Malik Glenn (Lauren), grandchildren Hunter Glenn, Diora ‘D’ Glenn, Aliana ‘Allie’ Glenn, Isaiah ‘Zay’ Glenn, Sophia Glenn, Mya Glenn, brothers Ivory “Tommy” Jones and Mark Anthony Jones, as well as aunts Faye ‘Frankie’ Jackson, Margie Jones, Joyce Kissee and June Glass. In addition, she will be remembered by her wide circle of loved ones including nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Joann Jones, and her beloved daughter Tyhira Ilana Glenn. A service will be held October 12, 2023, at Lewis Funeral Home, 78 East Main Street, Moorestown, New Jersey, 08057.
