Geraldine R Bresan lived her life defined by kindness, faith, and an unwavering devotion to her family. She passed away at the age of 89, surrounded by the love of her family in her longtime Cinnaminson home, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy of generosity, compassion, and quiet strength. Born on April 14, 1937, in Albany, New York, Geraldine was the daughter of Herbert and Dorothy Jane Reilly. She was the oldest daughter in a family of eight children and grew up alongside her siblings, Bert, Charles, Patricia, Kathleen, Eileen, Thomas, and Marcia. She graduated from the College of Saint Rose in Albany with a degree in education and began her career teaching middle school chemistry. While at Saint Rose, she attended a Valentine's Day dance where she met Vincent "Vince" Bresan, the man who would become her husband and best friend. They were married in December 1959 and shared more than 52 wonderful years together, building a life rooted in love, faith, family, and adventure. They settled in New Jersey, where they raised six children: Kathy (Alan), Vincent, Michael (Kathy), Tommy, Susan (Rich), and Jennifer (Mike). After raising her family, Geraldine returned to school to earn her nursing degree at Burlington County College and spent many years volunteering as a school nurse at her kids’ school. She loved helping others and believed it was never too late to learn something new. Helping others wasn't just something Gerry did, it was simply who she was. She never looked for recognition, only for ways to make someone's day a little easier. Whether it was offering a stranger a ride home in the rain, giving driving lessons to a visiting priest from India, volunteering to take blood pressures after Mass, fitting eyeglasses for those in need through an organization called Hope for Haiti, or quietly supporting pregnant women who lost their husbands in the September 11 attacks, she was always ready to lend a hand. Even the smallest acts of kindness brought her joy, from leaving cold sodas for the trash collectors on hot summer days to setting out snacks for the mail carrier. Acts of kindness, both large and small, came naturally to her and reflected the compassion that guided her throughout her life. Throughout their years together, Gerry and Vince enjoyed a full life, traveling and exploring new places with friends, sharing in Bible study, and especially enjoying their time on the golf course. They were active members of Riverton Country Club, where Gerry was a regular on the course and proudly became the Nine Holers Champion in 1999. Gerry never worried much about whether a golf shot looked pretty. She always said that as long as the ball was making its way toward the hole, that was what mattered. In their later years, Gerry and Vince became snowbirds, spending their winters in Naples, Florida, where they continued their love of golf as members of Imperial Golf Club. She loved skiing, playing tennis, working in her garden, and getting lost in a good book. She had a deep appreciation for art and especially enjoyed attending the opera. She also was an active member of the Moorestown Garden Club, Questers, and Red Hat Society. Gerry also had a knack for home improvement and could see potential where others saw none, often turning someone else's trash into treasure. She loved helping her children make their first homes feel like home and was always eager to paint a room, plant a garden, or tackle a new project together. The holidays were especially meaningful to Gerry, and she delighted in bringing her family together to create traditions and memories that will be cherished for generations. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life, and she was a devoted member of St. Charles for many years. She served the parish in countless ways, teaching CCD classes, participating in the ministry, volunteering as a nurse for many years, and giving her time each year at the parish carnival, whether working a booth or lending her skills as a nurse. For Gerry, her faith was something she lived through service to others. Nothing brought Gerry more happiness than being with her family. She was a hands-on Grandmom to her thirteen grandchildren: Chris, Caroline (John Paul), Jonathan, Matthew, Sean, Michael (Dominique), Andrew (Candace), Julia, Isabel, Ethan, Aidan, Connor, and Liam. She was always there to cheer them on, lend a hand, or just spend time with them. She took such great pride in all of their accomplishments. Gerry loved passing down her knowledge and teaching her grandchildren new skills, whether it was swimming the length of the pool, tending a garden, swinging a golf club, or making their way down a ski slope. Some of her favorite memories were the hours they spent in her pool, where summers were filled with laughter and fun. In recent years, she was overjoyed to welcome her great-granddaughters, Everly and Penelope. Gerry was predeceased by her beloved husband, Vince, whose memory she cherished every day. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, extended family, friends, and the many people whose lives she touched as a teacher, nurse, volunteer, and friend. Those who knew Gerry will remember her for her warmth, her quiet generosity, and the way she made everyone feel welcome. She always had a story to share with everyone she met, making even new friends feel like old ones. Her family is grateful for the many years they shared with her and will carry her love with them always. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated caregivers of Bayada Home Health Care and Samaritan Hospice for the compassionate care, kindness, and support they provided Gerry during her final years. Their professionalism and genuine concern brought comfort not only to Gerry but to her entire family, and they will always be remembered with deep appreciation. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 am on Friday August 21st, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 42 W. Main St. Moorestown, NJ. A visitation will be held from 10 am to 10:45 am at the church. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ..
