John Feeley

John “Jack” Edward Feeley, age 89 passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Jack was born in Newton, MA prior to residing in Mount Laurel, NJ for the past 35 years. Jack was a kind, loving, generous husband, father, brother, and friend to all who knew him, and would be the first to say, “what can I do to help”, to anyone in need under any circumstance. Jack leaves behind his loving wife Janet, whom he was married to for 67 years; and his children Susan (Gentes), Doanda (Harper) and John Feeley. As well as his sister Tuttie Fortin. His seven grandchildren; Amanda, Jessica, Joey, Daniel, Catherine, Samantha, and Spencer, as well as many great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Preceding him in death are his brothers William and Frederick as well as his sister Jean. We know you are with God; we hope Patches is on your lap, Nicky at your feet and all those who have gone before are now surrounding & welcoming you into this next chapter. Jack completed his diploma of Apprenticeship of Draftsman at Raytheon and continued to further his education by receiving his degree in Engineering from Northeastern University. He used his love of engineering to enjoy a lifelong career in engineering and deep ocean sonar and thermal research. His many accomplishments included the design, testing and manning of the Alvin Deep Submersible Vehicle out of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, MA. He also was tasked to join the successful research team devoted to the investigation and redesign of the failed O-ring seals on the space shuttle Challenger. Jack proudly served in the United States Navy for 9 years on the USS Roosevelt and the USS Salisbury Sound and was awarded medals: FOP Service-China Service, FOP Service-Europe Occupation, West Berlin and the US Navy Good Conduct Medal. His service memberships included: The Brotherhood of the Trusted Horned Shellback and the Domain of the Golden Dragon. He was also a Freemason – at the Masonic Norfolk Lodge During his retirement years, he developed a thriving handyman business, he could fix just about anything from cars and plumbing to electrical and construction. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling and was the President of the local bowling league, he traveled extensively and was an active member with the church and politics. He was also an avid golfer, two years in a row making the same exact “hole in one” at Willowbrook Country Club. You made your mark on this world; you will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts. Viewing will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023, at the First Methodist Church, 446 E. Camden Ave, Moorestown, NJ beginning at 9:30am, with the service following at 10:30am. Jack will be laid to rest at Locustwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Cherry Hill, NJ following the service. The family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Lewis Funeral Home for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time.
