John V Quaranta

John V. Quaranta of Barrington, formerly of Haddon Heights, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2020 after 83 beautiful years of life. John was born on February 20, 1937 in Camden, NJ to the late Vincent and Mary Quaranta. He is also predeceased by his loving sister, Carmella Parker and her husband Jack. The love between soulmates is eternal, and John found his forever with Lillian (Erdman). They married September 29, 1962 and created a beautiful family together - Marianne (Matthew) Collins, Susan (John) Nestory, Vincent (Lisanne) Quaranta, and Renee (Rocco) Mignogna. John adored his grandchildren - Brittany (David) Markelwith, Matthew Collins, Eric & Ryan Nestory, Jacob, William & Isabel Quaranta, and Gianna Mignogna. John also shared a loving bond with his nephew, John Parker and family and his niece, the late Deborah Marziano and family. True friendship is a journey without an end, and John has shared an everlasting friendship with many, but especially Salvatore and MaryJane Iuvara. In his early years, John grew up and attended Haddon Heights High School. He was proud to be a Garnet playing Varsity Baseball, even trying out for the A's Team after being scouted. John graduated in 1955 and served in the Army National Guard. He was also very active within his community, coaching Haddon Heights Intramural and Travel Baseball teams. John worked many years in sales for Washington National Insurance Company while serving as Councilman in Haddon Heights for eight years. He also became very active as a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. John later became employed with DiGiulio's Shoe Store. After retirement, John became very involved in the Holy Child Parish Men's Club. One highlight of his retirement was traveling to Italy where his family originated. John loved his family and friends and enjoyed spending quality time with them. He will be dearly missed by so many. Viewing Dec. 6th Sunday afternoon 2 – 4 pm at the Lewis Funeral Home,78 E. Main St. Moorestown, NJ. Mass of Christian burial Monday Dec. 7th , 11 am at Holy Child Parish, 13 E. Evesham Rd. Runnemede, NJ,08078. Due to the present COVID restrictions, masks, social distancing and attendance guidelines will be in effect for all services. Private entombment Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ. In lieu of flowers , memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Holy Child Parish Men's Club c/o of the church.
