Lisa A Mrak

It is with great sadness that we share that Lisa Ann Mrak died suddenly in Newark, DE on January 4, 2024. She was born in Philadelphia, Pa on January 4, 1954. She was a loving wife to Tony Mrak, wonderful daughter to her predeceased parents, Phil and Carolyn Piro, caring sister to Phil (Marion), Steve(Linda), Michael, Mark(Amy), Paul (Jane) and Carolyn, sister-in-law to Carole (Bob) and Linda (Brady) and a thoughtful aunt and great aunt to nearly 20 nieces and nephews. She spent her early years in Erial, NJ and Los Angeles, CA before moving to Moorestown, NJ with her parents and siblings. She graduated from Moorestown HS in1972 and moved to DC, graduating in 1974 from Marymount University with a degree in Fashion Design. After college, she moved to Manahawkin, NJ thriving at the shore. Lisa moved to Connecticut to work as an office manager for her brother Phil during the mid-80s in Stamford, CT. Lisa moved back to Moorestown in 1988 and began working for ARI in Mount Laurel. In 1989, Lisa met Tony Mrak and the stars were truly aligned. They married in 1991 and settled in Philadelphia for a few years before moving to Moorestown. Lisa and Tony found joy and adventure in their union, whether it was hiking in Maine, skiing in the Rockies, the Alps, and Vermont, kayaking in the Pine Barrens, or sitting on the beach especially Hawaii. In the 90s, Lisa began throwing mud and became an accomplished potter. Lisa started her own business, Waterline Pottery, and participated in numerous art shows in the area. She and Tony watched Jeopardy! every night together – though who the all-time champion is, we will never know. Lisa was a lifelong dog lover and had a very active dog walking and dog sitting service. She recently became an avid pickleball player. In 2023, she and Tony moved to Chestertown, MD to enjoy their retirement near Chesapeake Bay. She was incredibly creative, thoughtful (never forgetting a birthday) and kind. She loved the outdoors and gardening. She is missed by all who were lucky enough to know her. Lisa would say she was a mermaid in a previous life. Mass of christian burial 11:00 am Thursday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Chruch, 42 W. Main St. Moorestown, NJ.
