RoseAnne "Rosie" Takio

RoseAnne "Rosie" Takio (née Herget), age 77, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, surrounded by her family, in Moorestown, New Jersey. Born on April 22, 1948, in Washington Heights in New York City, she was the beloved daughter of the late Charles Herget and Evelyn Lambert-Paine. Rosie was a devoted wife, mother and friend to so many. Rosie was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Edward Takio in 2021. She is survived by her children: Wayne (Aileen) Takio, Lauren (Steven) Zindel, and Dale (Katalin) Takio; her grandchildren: Reid, Avery, Ryan, Drew, Caden, and Olivia; and her “grand doggies”: Lola, Lizzy, Calli and Coby. From her lifelong journey from New York City to New Jersey to Charlotte and ultimately to Jacksonville, Florida, she had an indelible impact on all that knew her. Rosie was known for her incredibly detailed stories and for her passion for crafting and scrapbooking, which provided tomes and time capsules for nearly every big and small life event she was a part of. Rosie’s greatest passion was world travel with Edward and her family and in search of as many World Heritage sites as possible. It was her personal quest to bring back and share stories and photos from all corners of the world to provide others with a glimpse into an array of other worldly cultures. Rosie dedicated much of her life to fostering a love of learning and community through her work in public libraries. From 1998 to 2005, she served at the Washington Township Public Library in Long Valley, New Jersey. She then continued her career at the Jacksonville Public Library, where she worked from 2005 until her retirement in 2024. While her children were school-aged, she balanced being a mother with successfully running her own chocolate business and being a business manager to her three talented children. RoseAnne will be missed but never forgotten. As she is now reunited in eternity with Edward, may their story carry on in our hearts. A Memorial Mass for RoseAnne will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel, 42 W. Main St. Moorestown, NJ 08057 on Friday May 15th at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome to attend.
