Verna M Riviello

Verna Riviello (nee DeLisle) passed away peacefully on August 23, 2023, at the age of 92 in Marlton, New Jersey. Born on January 29, 1931, in Camden, New Jersey, she grew up in Collingswood and lived most of her life in Cherry Hill, NJ. Verna was the beloved mother of Susan and her husband Gregory, David, Angela, and Chrisa; sister of Katherine Hancock; “Nana” of Gregory Jr, (Melissa) Marisa, Kirsten, Sophia, Natalie, Alexandra, Nicole, Lauren, Rachel, Joseph; great “Nana” of Chase Gregory. Survived by her former spouse, Benny Riviello, Jr. Verna was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Kathryn DeLisle, her brother Charles DeLisle and her longtime companion, Don Ballou. Verna's life was filled with joy and laughter. She will be remembered most for her colloquialisms, quick wit, and kindheartedness. Verna's skill with coupons, love for animals, and passion for fashion made her a remarkable individual. She was not only a mother, companion, nana, great “Nana”, sister, and friend but also a dedicated nurse. Verna graduated from the Cooper School of Nursing and worked as an OR nurse at Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Later, she returned to the workforce as a private duty nurse for Bayada Nursing. When Verna wasn't caring for others, she enjoyed traveling to countless destinations throughout the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean with her companion, Don. Her adventurous spirit and love for exploring new places and meeting new people brought her great happiness. A time of remembrance and visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, from 5:30 PM to 7 PM at the Lewis Funeral Home 78 E. Main St. Moorestown, NJ 08057. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or to an animal charity of the donor's choice in memory of Verna. Verna Riviello's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness, humor, and dedication to her loved ones will never be forgotten
