BARBARA C ROSS died at Samaritan Hospice on March 4, 2017 at the age of 82. She loved her family dearly. She was the widow of Richard D. Ross, She is survived by her daughter, Alison Judah (Richard Cardona); sisters Margaret Hunter and Claire Cowen; nieces Elizabeth Hunter, Laura Hunter Dietz, Meg Hunter Crissman, and Catherine Eagley; Nephew Thomas Hunter; Great-nieces Amelia, Olivia, Julia, Claudia, Jessica, and Reaghan; Great Nephews Luke and Patrick, as well as step-daughter Patricia Ross and step-sons Laurent Ross, his wife Mercedes and their children Tadina and Machelle, and Bruce Ross. Barbara was born in New York City and was the oldest of three sisters. Graduating from Barnard College, her first job was with IBM in Manhattan. Barbara moved to California with her first husband, Van Judah. They lived in Portola Valley, California for a number of years in the 1960’s and early 1970’s just before the area became known as Silicon Valley. She returned to the East Coast in 1975. Barbara married Richard Ross in 1982. Later in her career, she founded and ran multiple businesses in environmental engineering with her late husband, Richard Ross. Barbara was an active volunteer at St. Matthew’s Church which included many years of knitting hats for premature babies. She loved music, art and poetry. She traveled considerably throughout her life and always prepared for her travels with extensive research. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 10, at 11 am at St. Mathews Lutheran Church, 318 Chester Ave, Moorestown, NJ 08057. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to be made to Samaritan Hospice at 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
