Edward William Kirn III

January 4, 2021

Edward William Kirn, III, of Moorestown, New Jersey, passed away suddenly on January 4, 2021 at the age of 54. Ed was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and relocated to Moorestown to start his career and family. Ed went to Penn Hills High School and graduated from Allegheny College with a Bachelor of Science degree. Later he went on to study law and obtain his Juris Doctorate from Ohio Northern University, where he met his wife. Ed was a partner in Powers Kirn, LLC, and practiced mortgage banking law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania for more than 26 years. Ed managed the litigation department and client relations. He was an active member of USFN, serving in many roles, most prominently as President from 2016-2018 and most recently as Treasurer/CFO. Ed regularly served on many panels and was a featured speaker at many industry conferences. Ed had many interests and hobbies including golfing, cooking, gardening and bowling. He was an avid outdoorsman. Ed enjoyed time with his family and friends in Ocean City, NJ boating and fishing, but really loved time at “The Camp” in Pennsylvania hunting, fly fishing and hiking in the woods. Everyone who knew Ed, loved Ed. He was a great storyteller, he gathered friends, colleagues and clients for a good laugh. He was a mentor to many, gave professional assistance to anyone that asked, coached his boys’ lacrosse and baseball teams and even taught life survival skills to the boys and their friends. Ed was a wonderful husband and father and will always be remembered as a special person to everyone in his family and extended family. Ed will be terribly missed. He leaves behind his wife, Sarah (nee Powers) and two sons, Andrew and Edward “Teddy”, his parents, Edward W. Kirn, Jr. and Joanne (nee Bizzack), his sister Christine Heffner (Randy), and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other family who loved him dearly. Due the Covid restrictions .In person memorial Mass will be held for Family only on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Moorestown, NJ. A Live stream of the mass can be viewed at at www.olgcnj.org. starting at 10:30 , Sat. Jan. 9th The family requests in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be sent to The Githens Center, 40 Cedar Street, Mount Holly, NJ 08057, a non-profit organization that assists families with Cerebral Palsy at which Ed served on the board for over 20 years.
