Genevieve Worrell

Worrell, Genevieve V . (nee Long) born Jan. 23, 1920, passed away quietly on October 13 at Lutheran Home, Moorestown. Jenny, as she was known, spent all of her life in Moorestown. She was the eldest child of Laura and Zack Long (Moorestown). Jenny was married to Franklin (Jim) L. Worrell, born in Medford but resided in Moorestown after their marriage. She is survived by her two sons, Richard F., Sr., and Robert J. and his wife Carol, both of Moorestown, and her brother John Long (widower of Mary) of Bristol. She also leaves behind her cherished three grandchildren, Richard F., Jr. and his wife Heather, James J. and his wife Christine, and Kimberly Anna. Also survived by one great-grandson, 4 great-granddaughters, 1 great-great-granddaughter, and 2 nieces and their families, all of whom she loved very much. In years past Genevieve was a member of the Moorestown Democrat Club, and served as a County Committee woman as well , Woman’s Auxiliary of the Moorestown Fire Dept., and a Senior Regent of the Women of the Moose in Mt Holly. She has worked for American Stores (Acme), McGuire’s Gift Shop, when both were on Main Street and as a poll-worker for the Burlington County Board of Elections. For a short time following the death of her husband she volunteered at the South Valley Public School library . A viewing for Genevieve is planned for Thursday morning from 9 – 10 am at the Lewis Funeral Home , 78 E. Main St. Moorestown, NJ with a funeral service to follow at 10 am . Interment at the Junior Mechanics Cemetery in Tabernacle. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that a donation in Genevieve’s name be made to the Moorestown First Aid and Emergency Squad, Moorestown.
