Jayne Anne Bodner (nee Hogrebe) a recent resident of Lumberton Leas of Lumberton, NJ, previously of Edison, NJ, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2020, at age 71, in the company of her family. Jayne earned a Bachelor’s degree in the computer technology field of Systems Analysis from The City University of New York (CUNY), as well as an M.B.A. degree from Pace University, also in Systems analysis. Jayne put her education to work for many years for several brokerage firms on Wall Street, N.Y.C., eventually retiring from Goldman Sachs in 2002. She built many strong working relationships and an excellent reputation among her colleagues during her 22-year career. Jayne was also very proud of her early career as an I.C.U. nurse at Perth Amboy general, which began at the same time as she began building her family. Upon retiring from Wall Street, Jayne found ways to help those in her community by joining Literacy Volunteers of America and assisting several students to develop their reading skills. She also served on the Child Advocate Committee for the Middlesex County Family Court where she was able to provide valuable perspective and guidance for developing recommendations to the Court on child welfare cases. Jayne is survived by her husband of 40 years, Phil Bodner, with whom she spent many wonderful years. She is also survived by a daughter, Marcella M. Bodner, and a son, Robert S. Bodner. Through her daughter, Marcella, and her husband who reside in Florence, NJ, Jayne is also survived by three step-grandchildren, Cassandra, Steven, Jr. and Jasmine, as well as six step-great-grandchildren. Jayne is also survived by three brothers, James Hogrebe Jr., Anthony Hogrebe and Michael Hogrebe, their wives, and many nieces and nephews. Jayne greatly enjoyed learning from reading both fiction and non-fiction books, as well as quilting, crocheting, gardening, traveling, and researching and writing family histories. Jayne was an excellent home-participant in Jeopardy! She was very fond of animals, nature and her pet dogs, Spots, August, Emmett, Nestor, and Laney. Jayne also found many friends and greatly enjoyed socializing and participating in Lumberton & Medford Leas activities. Jayne’s Memorial Service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday March 3rd at Lewis Funeral Home, 78 E. Main St. Moorestown, NJ. Visitation 9 – 10 am.
