J. Peyton Old, of Moorestown, passed away on May 19, 2015 at Cooper University Hospital. He was 71. Peyton was born on May 8, 1944 in Cranford, NJ. Following college, Peyton joined the Air Force and served as a combat photographer during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Air Force in 1970, Peyton went on to establish a successful career in printing and imaging, spanning over 40 years. Peyton helped promote the use of holographic imagery as an anti-counterfeiting feature on documents such as birth certificates, credit cards and passports. He was a leading expert in document security, helping to write global standards for security and serving as a consultant for the US government and several South American countries. His work also fed a love of global travel. Peyton’s consulting work took him on trips to six continents and a countless number of cities around the world. Peyton had a passion for cooking for friends and family. He was an avid gardener and a voracious reader of all books with a particular fondness of historical fiction. Peyton is survived by his wife, Carroll, son Tyler and his wife Dana, of Los Angeles, and brother Bill and his wife Susie, of White Post, VA, and many friends. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 26 at 11:00am at Trinity Episcopal Church, 207 W. Main St. Moorestown, NJ 08057.
